Meet Julie

I'm Julie — the photographer and the brain behind The Box.

I've spent years working with families and kids, which means I've seen every version of 'we're not photogenic' and 'my kids never cooperate.' Spoiler: they always do.

Every session I guide you through, so you're never standing there wondering what to do with your hands. The result is something bold, playful and nothing like the photos sitting forgotten on your phone.

Oh, and I convinced my (very skeptical) 14-year-old to get in the box. So yes — I can work with anyone.

How many people can fit in the box?

Kids, adults, families — everyone can fit.

The box is designed for full-body portraits, so I guide positioning carefully to make sure everyone looks natural and comfortable.

If you’re unsure about group size, just message me and I’ll confirm what works best.

What should I wear?

For Themed sessions, I'll send you outfit suggestions to match the concept once you book. For Signature sessions, we'll chat beforehand about your vision — bold, minimal, colourful or classic — and plan from there. The white box makes colours pop, so I'll help you figure out what works best for your family.

When will I receive my images?

Your final composite and selected digital images are delivered via an online gallery.

Turnaround time is typically shared at booking (it is generally within 2 weeks).

Can I purchase extra images?

Yes! Additional images and composite upgrades are available to purchase when you receive your gallery online.

What's the payment and booking process?

For Signature Box Sessions, a non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your date, with the remaining balance due before your session. For Themed Box Sessions, full payment is required at the time of booking as spots are limited and reserved exclusively for you. Your session is only confirmed once payment is received.

Where is the studio and is there parking?

The studio is located in Willagee, Perth. There's easy parking right outside — no stress getting in and out, especially with kids in tow.

What if I need to reschedule?

Life happens! Please get in touch as soon as possible if you need to change your date and I'll do my best to accommodate you. Booking fees are non-refundable but transferable to a new date where possible or to someone else.

How long does a session take?

Signature Box Sessions run for 45–60 minutes. Themed sessions are shorter by design — I'll share the exact timing when each themed session is released.
